ASSETtraK™ Hand Held RFID Reader

ASSETtraK is used as an auditing / verification tool. It speeds up your physical audit of assets firstly through the use of RFID (radio frequency identification) and secondly through the use of automated reports.

By using RFID, you no longer need to manually check every asset ID against a printed out copy of your register. You simply enter a location (see “Reading a Tag” on page 7 of “ASSETtraK_Manual.pdf”) and scan the assets in that location.

When you exit the location after having read all the assets, scan the location marker again (scan out). This will compile the data into verification reports (see “Show Reports Menu” on page 6 of “Software_Manual.pdf” ) .

RFID Hand Held Reader Equipment

• Tags are ePC 915MHz for use in conjunction with the ASSETtraK™ System of RF Tags S.A. (Pty) Ltd. These are to ISO 18000-6C standard (EPC Class 1 Gen 2) and are available from a number of suppliers.

• Tags are adhesive backed for use on wooden tables, chairs, desks, bookshelves and the like. All of the sensitive parts are on the adhesive side which protects the tags against damage from light usage. They can be used as-is or with a protective cover if heavier use is expected.

• Standard tags are NOT guaranteed to work on all surfaces. Special tags or special mounting (stand-offs, secondary packaging and covers can be provided and will be quoted for on a case by case basis. Special tags may be required for metal filing cabinets, steel desks, printers, computers, notebooks, fax machines and the like.
